Floraville 2012 field trip success
By Phil Creaser
26 July 2012
Following the excavation of the almost complete Diprotodon skeleton at Floraville in 2010 and 2011, the emphasis for the 2012 trip was the collection of more material and resolving a geological section at the Old Floraville Crossing.
In addition, there was further collecting and exploring around known sites.
These objectives were achieved and a number of significant finds made at the Old Crossing.
Several new sites were also found and collected from and an old site worked in the 1990s was relocated. This site was very rich with a wide range of fossils from small mammals to large turtles and crocodiles.
