Australian amber – more significant finds to come?By Phil Creaser Following the segment on the ABC Science program Catalyst, the UNSW team has been in touch with a number of people from around Australia who have reported finding amber pieces on local beaches. These finds are being investigated and some pieces have been forwarded to the team for further investigation. Preliminary studies are very promising and it is possible there may be other significant Australian amber deposits that have not previously been recognised. Team members have been invited to an international amber Conference to be held in Beijing to talk about the Cape York amber discoveries. |
