About CREATE

The CREATE fund has been established to provide a focus for studies into the evolution of Australia’s Ecosystems, concentrating on the last 100 million years.

The main emphasis is on the lessons that can be learned from the past and how these can provide an understanding of the present and the key to our future.

CREATE is a University of New South Wales (UNSW) Foundation.

CREATE Objectives

To facilitate and conduct research projects relating to the evolution of Australia’s terrestrial environments, principally over the past 100 million years;
To serve as a networking hub, linking organisations such as universities, museums, fossil centres, community organisations and interested individuals;
To generate funds for research in this field through grants, sponsorship, donations and bequests;
To publicise and disseminate research results through journals, advice, and lectures, training courses and through the media.

Appropriate Support of Projects

To fund Palaentological and related geological research carried out for non profit purposes by:

Assisting Honours and Postgraduate students with the above research;
Contributing to the purchase of capital items and building works related to the above research;
Contributing to the cost of acquisition or any specimens or collections related to the above research.
